Brazilian Lemonade
Creamy, frosty and tart, this zesty concoction will transport you to the sun-kissed beaches of Rio de Janeiro with just one sip. In Brazil, it’s known as ‘limonada Suíça’ which translates to ‘Swiss Lemonade’ due to its inclusion of sweetened condensed milk which was marketed by Swiss owned Nestlé in Brazil in the 1940s.
4 limes
Water
Ice
You will also need:
A blender
Fine mesh sieve
Step 1 of 4
Remove the ends from the limes and cut each one into 8 wedges.
Step 2 of 4
Add the lime wedges, sweetened condensed milk and water to a blender and pulse 4 – 5 times to blend. Be careful not to over blend as this will make your lemonade taste bitter.
Step 3 of 4
Fill a large jug with ice and using a fine mesh sieve, strain the mix from the blender into the jug to remove any large pieces of lime remaining.
Step 4 of 4
Pour into glasses and enjoy whilst cold!
This drink is best served immediately as it can taste bitter if made up beforehand and kept in the fridge.
