Edible Cookie Dough
Sneaking a bit of cookie dough before its baked is a right of passage for most of us… but if you’re going to eat more than a tiny bit you’ll need a recipe that’s safe as well as being super delicious!
Our condensed milk gives the cookie dough a sublimely smooth texture – as does using icing sugar instead of caster sugar – but if you like it crunchy swap it back! If you want to bake cookies – our normal cookie recipe works best find it here.
Plain flour
Icing sugar
Light brown soft sugar
Unsalted butter, softened
Vanilla extract
Chocolate chips
Step 1 of 5
Preheat the oven to 180˚C, (160˚C for fan ovens), gas mark 4.
Step 2 of 5
Spread the flour our over a baking tray and heat in the oven for 7 minutes. Don’t skip this step as it makes the flour safe to eat raw and brings a slightly toasted flavour to your cookies. Leave to the side to cool for 10 minutes.
Step 3 of 5
Beat the sugars together with the butter and condensed milk and vanilla extract until light and airy.
Step 4 of 5
Sift the cooled flour into the mixture and fold in. Add the chocolate chips and fold in.
Step 5 of 5
You can serve it immediately, or it can be kept in the fridge or freezer – just leave the dough out for about an hour to soften first. However it doesn’t bake well as a cookie – so for this you need our chocolate chip cookie recipe here.
