Buttery baking spread
Dark brown soft sugar
Rice cereal
For the topping:
White chocolate
Freeze dried strawberries
You will also need:
Heart shaped cutter
2 x Tray lined with baking paper
Step 1 of 6
Heat the sugar and butter in a non-stick pan over a medium heat until completely melted. Add the condensed milk and bring to a rapid boil, stirring continuously.
Step 2 of 6
Cook the caramel for a minute or two until it has thickened and pulls away from the sides of the pan. Take off the heat and leave to cool.
Step 3 of 6
Put the rice cereal into a large mixing bowl and mix in the caramel. Spread the mixture out onto the lined baking tray in an equal layer and place in the fridge to set for an hour.
Step 4 of 6
When the mix has set, use the heart shaped cutter to cut out hearts. Transfer the hearts to another lined baking tray.
Step 5 of 6
Melt the white chocolate in a heat safe bowl on top of a pan of simmering water (make sure the bowl doesn’t touch the water). Using a spoon or a piping bag, drizzle the melted chocolate over one half of the hearts and sprinkle over the freeze-dried strawberries over the chocolate whilst it is still warm.
Step 6 of 6
Pop the hearts back into the fridge to set and then serve up and share with your loved ones.
