Chocolate Box Cookie Bar
We've used Quality Street chocolates for this recipe, but you could use any similar chocolates you have leftover at Christmas!
There’s always a few chocolates left lurking at the bottom of the box after Christmas, so we’ve come up with a delicious way to use them all up. Our Chocolate Box Cookie Bar makes for a great afternoon treat to share with friends and family and is super easy to make!
Light brown sugar
Buttery baking spread
Carnation Condensed Milk
1 egg
Vanilla extract
Self raising flour
Cornflour
Chocolate box chocolates, chopped into pieces (we’ve used Quality Street)
You will also need:
20cm (8in) square tin, lined with baking parchment
Step 1 of 4
Preheat the oven to 190°C (170°C for fan ovens) or Gas Mark 5.
Step 2 of 4
In a large bowl, cream the butter, sugar and condensed milk until light and fluffy. Add the egg and vanilla, then mix gently until combined.
Step 3 of 4
Add the rest of the ingredients and mix with a spatula until a thick cookie dough forms. Press the mixture into the tin and bake for 15 minutes (or until the top looks and feels like sandpaper).
Step 4 of 4
Remove from the oven and allow to cool on a wire rack.
